May I please know in which Purana " Sri Tamraparni Mahatmyam" is available?. Is it in Sankara Samhita of Sri Skanda Purana?.

I'm in search of "Sri Sankara Samhita" to translate our Kshetra Mahatmyam. But I couldn't find the text till now.

The Skanda Purana VERSION consisting of 8 Khandas (Maheswara to Ambika Khanda is easily available http://vedicreserve.mum.edu/skanda.htm).

But, in Sri Skanda MAHApurana VERSION (containing SIX Samhitas) some Samhitas are NOT AVAILABLE to me after several years of searching in libraries. The SIX Samhitas are:

1.Sanatkumara Samhita (available)
2.Sutha Samhitha (available)

3.**SANKARA SAMHITHA (NOT AVAILABLE)**

4.Vaishnava "
5. Brahma "  (available)
6.Soura Samhita (available)

The 3rd  Samhita, "SAnkara Samhita" (also known as Agasthya Samhita, as many khandas are narrated by Sri Agasthyar) consists of TWO parts. First part consisting of 7 Khandas. And the Second consists of 14 Khandas. Totally 1933 Chapters are there. And the last of Part Two is specially known as "Agasthya KHANDA" as it contains a NUMBER OF MAHATMYAS. Several Temple's Sthala Purana is said to be said in this Khanda.

I got the above information from a old book Sthala purana book which shortly says the Mahatmyas in english. The very old aged Author of that book says that his Grantha Manuscript of Sankara Samhita of Skanda Mahapurana used for reference has almost been destroyed by termites  (some decades ago). And his mission was to TRANSLATE Our Kshetra Mahatmya verse by verse in Tamil, which he couldn't accomplish due to his old age.

MY APPEAL:

Could you please provide me "Sankara Samhita" text if it is available with you, as it would help me to TRANSLATE the Sanskrit text with Tamil translation for the benefit of our Kshetravasis, who are unaware about the greatness of our Kshetra?.

Solution:

Gobar gas plants & stop using UREA in farming (Even if it is neem oil coated urea).
Govt introduced neem oil coated urea to prevent evaporation of nitrous oxide into atmosphere.

And too much irrigation by farmers  causing water clogged rice fields are also responsible for Methane emissions..

As he says 'winds & temperature' are main factors to produce rain.

In yagyas we give havir bhagaas (aahutis/
Oblations) to these rain bringing winds like 'purovaatha' etc & to Sun for getting that energy equivalent to atomic power to create cyclonic
winds to bring rain.

To get gd rain in rain forests of Western Ghats doing Somayagaas are indespensible. Performing at least one Somayagam in one's lifetime is a mandatory duty for Brahmana Kshatriya Vaishya Gruhasthaas.

How to get rain & cope with fodder scarcity ?

A Soma yaga (a rare madatory yagya) was performed at Trichy in 1st week of March.

(Soma) Yagyas give rain.

Cash crops & tourism must be banned in hills. Tribals,elephants & tigers will take care of rain forests. Tirunelveli (Tamraparni) getting gd rain bcoz of Mudumalai tiger reserve & lack of tourism in hills. No gd measures from govt to control forest fires & illegal logging.
Lack of "IshtA poortha Dharma" main reason for water scarcity. IshtA means yagyas like Ishti.Might have seen it in almanac on prathamais. Poortha Dharma means kudimarAmatthu -community desilting of water bodies. Both Isthi & poortha are necessary. Inter dependent. No use in doing costly Somayagyas if our water bodies couldn't preserve water. #PWD must b made accountable.

Need of the hour : Legal knowledge for citizens (especially farmers) to make the govt & judiciary work. Warrant Balaws's books will give confidence that we can get timely justice even in this corrupt system.

Our govt too can emulate US Govt's community garden system for landless farmers. Porumboke lands for horticulture crops & pastures to cultivate fodder.

Aapath dharma

Doing paradharma (business of lower varna) during financial distress is allowed for Hindus. Though it is paradharma it is regarded as Aapathdharma during emergencies. Doing paradharma in absence of emergencies will pave d way for hell.

Need change of mindset in Brahmin parents

Brahmins need to return their native village & do their swadharma. Those who have enough asset/money may move easily.

Parents of brides need to give priority to bridegroom in following order:

1. Vedic guru
2. Vedic priest (sastrigal)
3. Agriculturist living in village
4. Teacher
5. Businessman
6. Entrepreneur
7. Govt job
8. Pvt job
9. IT Job.

What is the purpose of marriage?.. What good have we left for our future generation ? Brahmins loosing their respect as they have left their identity &duty.

#IPC penalties are outdated.Must update. Law makers COPIED penalties 4m laws of various countries. Nothing 4m #ArthaShastra or #DandaNeeti.

Untouchability

Untouchability exists even within Brahmins for purity.eg: Between pure & impure during birth/death pollution,puja,food ETC

Yakshma Tharpana after bathing for polluting water

 Hindus need to do YAKSHMA Tharpana daily after taking bath, for polluting water by bathing. Imagine expiations for other kinds of pollution like effluents,sand mining etc.,

Take a handful of water with both hands, chant the shloka & do tharpana to please Yakshma devatha for polluting water by bathing.

" En mayA dhooshitham thoyam shAreera mala sanchayai:|
tath pApa parihArAya yakshmAnam tharpayAmyaham||"

Marriage for girls at 18 yrs is the need of the hour!

Today is Valentine's day!. Inter caste love marriages rampant these days in Brahmin community & other communities too. If not at 18 yrs of age ( as recommended by Kanchi Mahaswami as per rule of land) for girls, 21yrs need to be the Max age for girls for marriage . Many parents & girls need to understand. Studies & job can be done after marriage by 18 yrs too. Brahmin  community is in grt threat due to this late marriage mindset!.People need to know that late marriages are the fountain head of various social,health,mental problems these days. If not kannika dhaana at least nischayathartha when she is minor & marriage once she becomes major by law (the next muhurtha after attain 18 yrs of age) will be more appropriate as of now. Ppl need to ponder over!.

Unlike Kannika dhaana marriage none of her friends can stop her marriage by reporting to police or missionaries if she gets married by 18 yrs (while studying second yr in college).  Girls may take correspondence or home study courses like CA,CS,Music etc.

Even if few put this '18 yr old marriage' for girls into practice there would be a great impact on others. Many will emulate in other communities too. Some of  responsible parents need to begin this revolution ASAP.

Ahimsa: Impact of Buddhism on Hinduism?.NO!

Diet of hindus was mainly vegetarian since time immemorial. Consumption of beef is prohibited. But consumption of meat etc is accepted only as prasad (Yagya Shaesha) after ritulas that too in very small quantity during 'special occasions'. Non-veg is NOT advocated for daily diet. Saying Change of culture after advent of Jainism & budhhism is unacceptable.

Did brahmins eat beef in sacrifices ?

NO. They did not eat. They should not eat beef.

BUT, they have to consume a small quantity (mustard size) of goat meat as 'Prasad' of Devathas to make the sacrifice fruitful. IF they refuse, it is considered as humiliating Devathas & the sacrifice become futile. It is COMPULSORY to take meat of Goat as prasad after offering to devathas!.

So, understand that brahmins didn't eat heaps of beef after sacrifice.

Were cows slaughtered for sacrifices?

NO. 'Pashu' in sanskrit means animals in general. In ritual scriptures it means GOATS. NOT COWS. Wherever we see that so many pashus were sacrificed in rituals we need to understand that it was goats. No where in scriptures it is said to sacrifice cows.

So understand that  hindus did not kill cows!. eg. In 'Pashu bandha' ritual  goats should be sacrificed. Not cows.Similarly in Somayagas like Yajapeya etc.

Need of the hour! For those who wish to protect our vedic culture!

1. As Hindus must have shika (tuft),They should sport a Shika like their fore-fathers or at least a small Shika admidst their hair.
2. Hindus must always have a religious mark like Vibhuthi (holy ash) or Thiru Naamam (or Gopi Chandhan)on their forehead.In case of women kumkum,sindhoor as per tradition etc.,
3. Girls should  be married as earlier as possible to prevent love marriages and inter caste marriages.Vedic Scriptures orders Hindu Parents to get their daughters married before they attain the age of 12 or puberty (whichever is earlier).There is a great scientific reason behind this rule.If you do some research you will get to know the facts and start to praise the scriptures how scientific it is!.
4. Hindus should not study in Co-Ed schools and colleges which leads to inter-caste love marriages.Varna Saankaryam is said as a great sin even in Srimath Bhagavath Gita!.
5. Hindus consisiting of Brahmanas,kshatriya,Vaishya & shudras must always try to stick to their "swa-dharma" to their extent possible.In short, Must follow the traditions of the Jaati Dharma & earn a livelihood as done by their ancestors.
6.  Brahmins Must perform their daily vedic rites without fail.
7.  BrahminsMust avoid eating in hotels.
8. Brahmins Must not eat onions,garlic etc..
9.  Brahmins Must earn a livelihood by the ways said to brahmins.i.e. by adyapanam,yaajanam,prathigraha(Teaching,Officating as priests,recieve gifts)
10. Brahmins must take care that they are not criticized in the media.
11. Many PIL's must be filed in the court to protect our dharma,to live a decent dignified life,etc whichever is necesscary,
12. Must educate our children about great vedic Hindu heritage and must educate them about our dharma shastras and make them to follow it by ourselves being a roll-model.
13. Ladies must not go for work.(Let us live a simple life with the salary of the earning head!.Let women not compete with men for job opportunities who are still unemployed).Ladies can exib=hibit their talent in spiritual or social causes.I think hinduism can be saved only by the involvement of women.It was protected actually.
14. We Must wear only traditional dress,atleast at home or during worship.When it is not necessary,We need not imitate the Western people in our dress,language etc when we get out to behave socially in the society.
15. Brahmins must learn vedas,dharma shastras ,sanskrit  daily.
16. Brahmins Must perform sandhya vandhana,aupasanam,agnihotra,vaishvadevam daily.

What is ur swadharma/religious duty?

Sri:

People think that going for professional jobs is better than doing vedic rituals.It is not so!.The shastras order brahmins to make their livelihood only by their swadharma i.e.,

1)Adhyaapana (Teaching vedas& shastras)

2)Yaajana (officiating other people rituals like soma yaga,agnihotra..)&

3)Prathigraha. (Receiving gifts).

Earning by other means other than the above three ways is not destined for brahmins.If survival  is difficult during emergency periods the shastras has allowed some occupations during such situations.But still it would be considered  great if he sticks to swadharma (ie.,above 3 ways) to earn money.The shastras have allowed to  do prathigraha even from the most sinful person (chandala) if not does not have money for his survival or To do vedic rituals like soma yaga.

In a nutshell,

If earning Rs.100  by vedic means(swadharma) is a mountain of sin earning by other means like being a engineer,doctor etc., is equivalent to 1 lakh mountains of sins.(as it is paradharma).

The Bhagavath gita says,

“Shreyaan swadharmo viguna: paradharmaath swanushtithaath|

  Swadharmae nidhanam shreya: paradharmo bhayavaha:      ||”

Even if ones swadharma has some deficiency it should be practised.Even if other duties (paradharma e.g. duties of kshatriya,vaishya,shudra) is well practiced it will not be considerd great as it is sinful.It is better to die being in swadharma since doing paradharma leads one to dangerous hells.

A brahmin must not work under shudras or mlechhas even during emergency.It is a great sin to work under a shudra.(e.g.Banks,Govt. jobs,MNCs, etc.,)

If  brahmins cannot survive by above means the shastras allow them to do,

1)      krishi(agriculture)

2)      Pashu paalanam (Rearing animals)

3)      Vyapara(Selling goods that are not prohibited by dharma shastras)

4)      Finance

5)      Teaching

6)      Cooking

7)      Transportation

After the emergency period he should do prayashchitta and return to his swadharma.

Brahmins earning by being a doctor,singer, astrologer is considered very sinful.Brahmins should not run after money for luxuries.

To call ourselves as brahmins we must atleast know the following dharmas!
